it is for a ';formal afternoon';, so nothing to dark. thanks!I need to find some 1940's make-up techniques, any ideas?
The key to the 40's pin up look is very pale skin, light shadow, a creme or white, and a dark liquid liner that has a bit of a tail at the end(nothing too crazy obviously since its during the day) and very dramatic eyelashes. My suggestion is using some falseys, with a thick single line to give it that very dramatic look. Finish it all of with some red lipstick and rosey cheeks
you could do pin curls for your hair or rolls...rolls are so easy just part your hair down the middle take each side in front of your ears and roll them back and pin in place with pins. you could even take a hankey and place the rest of your hair in that for a very fresh summer look.I need to find some 1940's make-up techniques, any ideas?
you just have to play with them a bit, it could take a few pins in each to get that symetrical look and some spray....youll get it just play around......they dont have to be perfect.... Report Abuse
evrything was dark back then....lopok at Christina Aguilara...get some ideas from her
Red lipstick, pink blush, blue eye shadow, and mascara(black).
Look up pin up porsters from the 1940'sbut as of right now the red lipstick is very in... with some dark mascara to elongate and voluminize your eyelashes..keep the eyes light with just mascara and the lips red..you will look like a cherry :)
Use vanilla eyeshadow from eyelid to browbone then use a soft mocha in the crease with a good crease brush. My favorite brush for this is the Heavenly Brush from Bare Escentuls. It's fool-proof. Kepp your cheeks light with a dusting of peachy pink blush....like Hoola from Benefit. You can either go with the dramatic Red lip or just a pinky gloss. If you go with the pinky gloss make sure and put a gold gloss in the center of your lips. Use lengthing black mascara like Bad Gal in Black from Benefit. Is awesome. It seperates and lengthens perfectly.
ask an old person......lol jk! just watch some old movies.
